Susannah Hope (Viola)

Susannah has been involved with Chelsea Concerts since the beginning - playing in our first concert, the Pergolesi Stabat Mater in Chelsea Old Church, 2009 and then playing alongside her sister Victoria Lyon in our Christmas concert 2011. We look forward to performing with her in our next concert in April.

Susannah, like her sister Victoria  was surrounded by music from a young age and she  started playing the viola at the age of 8. She was leader of the viola section in the National Children's Orchestra, and then joined the National Youth Orchestra where they toured all over Europe.

She was a music scholar at Wells Cathedral School - a specialist music school, where she led the viola section for both the String Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestras. She was also a keen chamber musician and was selected with her quartet to take part in the Cambridge Symposium Competition where they reached the finals.

Susannah won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music and plays in performances that take her all over the world.
